Description

Sport primary gears Malossi HTQ 16/37 are intended for various Piaggio and Vespa 50cc 2T scooters and primarily for tuned engines where the standard gear ratio becomes too short.

The longer gear ratio allows better utilisation of the power of a tuned engine and the possibility of a higher top speed, but the engine must have sufficient power to use the longer gears. They are primarily suitable for sport and Racing cylinders or more powerful tuning configurations.

Recommendation for installation

During installation, it is recommended to check the bearings, condition of the transmission housing and other transmission components and to replace the transmission oil after assembly. Appropriate tools are required for correct installation.

Note

Longer primary gears by themselves do not increase engine power. If the engine does not have sufficient power, an excessively long gear ratio can reduce acceleration and the engine will not be able to utilise the full transmission range. Therefore, the 16/37 gears are recommended primarily for appropriately tuned 50cc or larger sport and Racing configurations.
