Description

Sport swiing pull starter in red is intended for Piaggio Ciao models with Mono or Vario drive. It allows the engine to be started by pulling the cord and is supplied ready for installation.

The starter is designed for Racing use and higher loads, making it suitable for modified or tuning engines as well.

Installation

First, all mounting surfaces must be thoroughly cleaned. The appropriate starter drive part is installed on the clutch or variator, and it is recommended to secure the flange nut with a thread-locking compound, e.g. Loctite.

The housing adapter is then lightly secured using the supplied engine screws. The round housing with the pull starter is installed and secured with M5x45 mm screws, after which the engine screws are fully tightened.

Important

After installing the pull starter, the pedals are no longer normally accessible, as the pedal arms come into contact with the starter housing.

Therefore, one of the following solutions is required:

• installation of footrests
• longer pedal shaft
• pedal shaft extension

Starting recommendation

Before starting, slowly pull the cord several times to allow the engine to rotate freely. Then firmly grip the handle, slowly pull until noticeable resistance is felt, and start the engine with a stronger pull.
