BGM PRO carburetor revision sets contain high-quality replacement parts to restore an existing carburetor to factory condition.
In addition to the seals, the set also includes the very important float needle.This ensures that the carburetor does not overflow and the engine has a stable idle.
TIP: For a perfect sealing surface, work up the float needle seat (usually made of brass) with a cotton swab (Q-Tip) and some chrome polish. This is important to remove any residue that often occurs with carburetors that have been standing for a long time.
The basic setting of the mixture screw is usually between 1½ and 2½ turns. To do this, turn the mixture screw gently to the stop and then turn it back out again by the above value. The mixture screw determines how rich or lean the mixture is in the low to medium range. An engine that runs too rich stutters (four-stroke) and does not get up to speed properly. An engine that is tuned too lean is reluctant to accept the gas and even tends to die when the gas is suddenly accelerated. If the main jet and the choke function are OK, the first step should be to overhaul the carburettor with an overhaul kit like the one offered here. After the basic setting, the scooter should then have a stable idle and good throttle response.
