Description

The rectifier or regulator converts the alternating current generated by the alternator into 12 V direct current used in the vehicle’s electrical system, and keeps the voltage within a specific tolerance range. In this way, it enables battery charging and prevents, for example, bulbs from burning out.

Since this component is exposed to very high thermal loads, it often fails.
If the rectifier or regulator is faulty, the battery constantly discharges, the ignition may stop working in certain ignition systems, bulbs frequently burn out, or the headlight may flicker. The only solution is to replace the part.
