The new 2026 model introduces an improved version of the legendary Malossi 172.5cc Racing cylinder, developed for liquid-cooled Piaggio, Gilera, and Italjet 125–180cc 2-stroke engines. The cylinder is made from high-quality aluminum with a Nicasil (nickel-silicon carbide) coating, ensuring outstanding heat dissipation, reduced friction, and a long service life even under extreme loads.

With a 65 mm bore, a 52 mm stroke, and a displacement of 172.5 cc, it represents a premium solution for sport and racing modifications. Six large transfer ports provide excellent cylinder filling, improved torque, and significantly more power compared to the original cylinder.

The kit includes everything required for installation, including the cylinder head, piston, gaskets, carbon reed petals, and mounting hardware.

Installation recommendation

• For optimal performance, we recommend using a reinforced crankshaft, a high-quality needle bearing, proper carburetor or fuel injection system tuning, and inspecting the water pump and cooling system. Due to the significantly increased performance, upgrading the exhaust system and CVT transmission is also recommended.
