Description
JMP ignition system tester with a measuring range of 0–40,000 volts, suitable for checking ignition voltage and its performance. By turning the built-in adjustment screw, the spark gap can be precisely set, allowing assessment of the ignition system condition.
Usage:
-
Remove the spark plug cap and connect it to the spark tester (remove or install the supplied adapter if necessary).
-
Attach the crocodile clip to ground.
-
Set the screw to a gap of approximately 10 mm (a properly functioning ignition system should jump about 15 mm).
-
Ensure that the spark tester does not come too close to ground.
-
Start the engine.
Important notice:
-
On multi-cylinder engines, the remaining spark plug caps must be connected to ground; otherwise, ignition components may be damaged.
-
If the spark plugs are removed, explosive mixture may escape through the openings.
-
Adjusting the gap using the screw is only permitted when the ignition is switched off.
-
When the ignition is switched on, do not touch the ignition system or the spark tester.
